LIMONCE LIMON BLUSH

1 ounce limoncello
3 ounces lemonade
1/2 ounce cranberry juice
1/2 ounce soda water
1 lemon wedge

Add all ingredients, except soda, to a shaker with ice. Shake vigorously and strain into a tall glass filled with ice, top with soda. Garnish with a wedge of lemon.

Fans of the Cosmopolitan Cocktail (vodka, triple sec, Rose’s lime juice and cranberry juice) will enjoy this drink: It has common flavour elements, but is lighter, without the vodka.

THE AMALFI

  • 1-1/2 ounces citrus vodka
  • 1/2 ounce limoncello
  • 1/2 ounce fresh lime juice
  • 2 sprigs lemon thyme or regular thyme*
*Thyme can be substituted for lemon thyme, but lemon thyme is preferable.

  • Put vodka, limoncello, fresh lime juice and the leaves from one sprig of thyme into a shaker with ice. Shake vigorously.
  • Strain and pour into a chilled cocktail glass. Garnish with a sprig of thyme.

Citrus lovers will love this summery cocktail. The fresh thyme sets it off perfectly, but if you don’t have fresh herbs, a lemon wheel will do.

LEMON SUNRISE

  • 1 ounce limoncello
  • 3 ounces fresh orange juice
  • Splash of grenadine
  • 1 orange slice

  • In a tall glass, add all ingredients
    over crushed ice.
  • Add a splash of grenadine and let it settle to the bottom (do not stir) to create the “sunrise” effect.
  • Garnish with an orange slice.
This is a beautiful brunch beverage, with a lower alcohol content than drinks made with higher-proof spirits like vodka and gin.
